About 360° Feedback

Understand how multi-source feedback works and how to use it effectively to develop your team.

What is 360° Feedback?

360° feedback is a comprehensive evaluation method where an employee receives confidential feedback from multiple sources — their manager, peers, subordinates, and even themselves. Unlike traditional top-down reviews, 360° feedback provides a well-rounded view of an employee's strengths and areas for development by gathering perspectives from everyone they work with.

Anonymity Guaranteed: All feedback submitted through AWI's 360° system is completely anonymous. Reviewers' identities are never revealed to the person being reviewed, encouraging honest and constructive feedback.

Types of Feedback

Self Assessment

The employee evaluates their own performance. This encourages self-reflection and helps identify gaps between self-perception and how others see their work.

Peer Feedback

Colleagues at the same level provide input. Peers often have the best insight into day-to-day collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills.

Manager Feedback

The direct supervisor evaluates the employee. Managers provide perspective on goal achievement, leadership potential, and alignment with team objectives.

Subordinate Feedback

Direct reports provide feedback on their manager. This is valuable for developing leadership skills and understanding management effectiveness.

2

Create a Feedback Request (Admin/Manager)

Click 'Request Feedback' to start a new 360° review. Fill in the following:

  • Title — A name for this feedback cycle (e.g., 'Q1 2026 Performance Review')
  • Feedback Type — Choose Self Assessment, Peer, Manager, or Subordinate feedback
  • Employee to Review — Select the person who will be evaluated
  • Reviewers — Choose one or more people who will provide feedback
  • Due Date — Set a deadline for when all feedback should be submitted
3

Submit Feedback (Reviewer)

If you have been selected as a reviewer, you will see pending feedback requests in the 'My Pending' tab. Click on a request to open the feedback form, provide your ratings and comments, then submit. Remember — your identity is kept anonymous.

4

Review Results (Admin/Manager)

Once all reviewers have submitted their feedback, the results are compiled and available in the 'All Feedback' tab. You can view aggregated ratings and individual comments to get a complete picture of the employee's performance.

Benefits of 360° Feedback

Provides a complete, multi-perspective view of employee performance
Reduces bias by collecting input from multiple sources, not just one manager
Helps employees understand how their work is perceived by different stakeholders
Identifies blind spots that traditional reviews might miss
Encourages a culture of open communication and continuous improvement
Supports leadership development by giving managers feedback from their teams

Best Practices

Select reviewers who work closely with the employee and can provide meaningful feedback
Include a mix of feedback types (peer, manager, subordinate) for a well-rounded view
Set reasonable deadlines — give reviewers at least one week to provide thoughtful feedback
When providing feedback, be specific and give examples to support your ratings
Focus on behaviors and outcomes, not personality traits
Use 360° feedback for development, not punishment — frame results as growth opportunities
