About Goal Templates

Learn how to use pre-built goal templates to save time, ensure consistency, and assign goals faster.

What are Goal Templates?

Goal templates are pre-configured goal definitions that you can reuse across your organization. Instead of creating each goal from scratch, templates let you define common objectives once and then quickly assign them to employees with just a few clicks. This ensures consistency in how goals are defined and saves significant time, especially when assigning similar goals to multiple team members.

Save Time

Assign goals in seconds instead of filling out forms from scratch every time.

Stay Consistent

Ensure all employees receive clearly defined, standardized goals.

Best Practices

Templates encode organizational best practices into reusable formats.

How to Use Goal Templates

1

Navigate to Goal Templates

From the sidebar menu, click on 'Goal Templates'. This page shows all available templates in your organization, including popular ones recommended for your role.

2

Browse or Search Templates

Scroll through the available templates or use the search and filter options to find the right one. Templates are organized by category and show usage statistics so you can see which ones are most popular.

3

Assign a Template to an Employee

Click the action menu on any template and select 'Assign to Employee'. A form will appear where you can:

  • Select the employee (or department) to assign the goal to
  • Adjust the target value if needed (the template's default is pre-filled)
  • Set a specific deadline for this assignment
  • Add any additional comments or context
4

Create Custom Templates (Admin/Manager)

Click 'Create Template' to define a new reusable goal template. Fill in all the template fields — name, description, category, type, priority, and default target. Once saved, the template is available for anyone in your organization to use.
